Technical Sales Engineer

About the Role

The Technical Sales Engineer works with both our Business Development and Customer Success groups to enable customer solutions that utilize Evernym products and espouse the philosophical tenets of self-sovereign identity. Part of this role is working directly with customers to understand their organizational goals, business model and use cases in order to understand technology fit and design solutions. Part of this role also includes playing an active role in supporting existing customers and designing and building solutions to support customer-focused initiatives. This is a hybrid role.


As mentioned above, this role splits across three different areas, all technical and all customer-centric.

Business Development

  • Meet with customers to assess use cases and technical needs
  • Support Business Development peers with assisting customers
  • Design and present technical presentations and demonstrations
  • Provide technical guidance to customers
  • Design preliminary technical project designs
  • Run remote sessions effectively

Customer Support

  • Answer customer questions and inquiries
  • Liaison with Engineering and other Customer Success Engineers
  • Participate in post-sales meetings with customers

Customer Systems

  • Design and develop solutions that support Customer Success initiatives
  • Develop demonstrations of Evernym technology


Desired Skills
  • 5+ years experience working with customers on a technical level
  • Knowledge in cryptography, blockchain, distributed technologies and/or identity
  • Ability to quickly understand customer technical needs
  • Ability to clearly articulate highly technical subjects at a level appropriate to the listener
  • Experience creating meaningful presentations and demonstrations
  • Detail-oriented approach to writing and presentation
  • Ability to communicate well with both technical and business people
  • Experience with Linux and version control systems such as Git
  • Feeling comfortable in both the boardroom and the server room
  • Ability to program, especially Python and/or NodeJS
  • Ability to represent the company well in-person, remotely, on the phone and in writing
  • Comfortable working with a distributed team
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
