Evernym was founded in 2013 to solve the digital identity crisis. We envisioned a world where consumers are in complete control of their digital identity, where privacy is a basic human right, and where consumers and organizations can foster a new relationship rooted in trust.
We’re pioneering a new paradigm called Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) that puts individuals in control of their data and enables people and organizations alike to benefit from a safer and more trusted Internet.
Innovators at heart, we’ve built the technical foundation for what has since grown into a vibrant developer community.
We’re the creators of Hyperledger Indy and the Sovrin Network, a co-creator of the cheqd Network, and a primary contributor to Hyperledger Aries and Ursa.
We also created the world’s leading verifiable credential platform, Verity, which has been rigorously tested for enterprise-grade performance and already powers live deployments within finance, healthcare, travel, education, and government.
Firm advocates for open standards and open ecosystems, we’ve helped create and develop the specifications that pave the way for universal and interoperable credential exchange.
We’re a co-editor of the Verifiable Credential spec at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which was approved as an official recommendation in 2019. We’re also a co-author and co-editor of the Decentralized Identifier spec, as well as a co-chair of both the W3C’s DID and VC Working Groups.
In pursuit of interoperability and collaboration, we also co-founded the Trust over IP Foundation, the Decentralized Identity Foundation, the COVID-19 Credentials Initiative, and the Good Health Pass Collaborative.
When organizations work with Evernym, they know they can expect enterprise-grade technology backed by a world-class team.
Today, our platform powers many of the world’s largest live implementations of self-sovereign identity, including the International Air Transport Association’s Travel Pass (in production or trial with 60+ airlines), the NHS Staff Passport (100+ hospitals), and Bonifii’s MemberPass (major credit unions around the US).
